Jennifer Aniston teared up remembering her co-star Matthew Perry while discussing Friends’ 30th anniversary.
During a recent interview, Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston became emotional when discussing her hit show ‘Friends’ reaching its 30th anniversary. The question evoked memories of her late co-star, Matthew Perry, who tragically passed away in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023.
During a conversation with Quinta Brunson for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Jennifer was questioned about the American sitcom reaching its 30th anniversary and her experience of watching it after Matthew Perry’s passing. To this, Jennifer broke into tears and said, “Oh, god. Don’t make me cry. Sorry, I just started thinking about..no I’m okay. These are happy tears.”
Jennifer then added, “It’s so strange to even think that it’s 30 years old because I remember the day that it was premiered on television, on NBC. Me and Matthew Perry were having lunch somewhere and Lisa was getting her hair coloured so we ran to the hair salon and I snuck up..she was in the sink..and took the nozzle and just started washing her hair. It definitely flew out of control and that was unfortunate. But the excitement we had feels like yesterday. The fact that it has had this long and wonderful life and it still means a lot to people is one of the greatest gifts all 6 of us ever could ever imagine.”
The Friends cast attended Perry’s private funeral. The last time all six members appeared on screen together was in 2021 for the Friends Reunion.
