Over the years, many celebrity couples have had on and off relationships that ultimately ended in divorce — but wasn’t always made legal the first time around.
Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin were married for 25 years until she filed for divorce in August 2022.
“I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues,” the Rocky star, who shares three daughters with Flavin, told Us Weekly in a statement at the time.
Two months later, Stallone and Flavin reconciled and dismissed the divorce case. They subsequently teamed up with their daughters for a Family Stallone reality TV show on Paramount+.
“We just really enjoyed doing the show, believe it or not. “We enjoy being around each other,” Flavin exclusively told Us in February 2024, teasing season 2. “We’re much more comfortable now in front of the camera and just talking and being ourselves. And I think this season you’re going to see a lot more heart. You’re going to see a lot more love, and we laugh more in this.”

Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll
The pro golfer filed for divorce from Stoll in May 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” and noting they have a prenup in place. One month later, McIlroy filed to dismiss his petition.
“Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together,” McIlroy told The Guardian in a June 2024 statement. “Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann
The reality TV couple filed for divorce in May 2023 after more than a decade of marriage. After two months of public accusations and a messy legal feud, Zolciak-Biermann dismissed her request for a divorce from Biermann.
Ray J and Princess Love
The “Wait a Minute” artist and the Love & Hip Hop star initially called it quits in May 2020 but reconciled two months later. Ray J filed new divorce paperwork in September 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The petition was tossed out in March 2021 — only for Ray J to refile for divorce that October. By March 2023, multiple outlets reported that the duo dismissed the request and were back together.

The model filed for divorce from the Rocky actor in August 2022 after 25 years of marriage. Less than two months later, however, a lawyer for Stallone confirmed to Us that the duo had reconciled. “We can confirm the divorce case has been dismissed,” the attorney said in October 2022.
Ne-Yo and Crystal Renay
The “Miss Independent” crooner and the About the Business alum exchanged vows for the second time in April 2022. Ne-Yo previously filed for divorce in March 2020, but he later withdrew the petition. The duo, who share sons Shaffer and Roman, tied the knot for the first time in February 2016.
Sam Hunt and Hannah Lee Fowler
In February 2022, Fowler filed for divorce, claiming that Hunt was “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct” and “adultery.” Fowler, who confirmed in the paperwork that she was pregnant with the couple’s first child, withdrew the filing that same day and submitted another filing in a different county.
Three months later, Us confirmed that Fowler asked the court to dismiss the divorce in April 2022.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus
Billy and Tish got married in 1993 following the birth of their daughter Miley Cyrus. They later welcomed son Braison Cyrus and daughter Noah Cyrus. The country singer also adopted Tish’s daughter Brandi Cyrus and son Trace Cyrus.
In 2010, the Kentucky native filed for divorce and dropped the request one year later.
Tish then filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage in 2013. The second filing was dismissed in 2017 when Billy and Tish failed to report to court. They previously credited therapy for helping mend their relationship.
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green
Fox filed for divorce in 2017 after five years of marriage before withdrawing the request amid her third pregnancy. In May 2020, Green confirmed that they decided to go their separate ways. They reached a divorce settlement in February 2022.
Cardi B and Offset
Cardi B and Offset got engaged in 2017 after being linked earlier that year. They got married in 2018, shortly before the arrival of their first child.
The pair briefly separated in December 2018. Cardi B then filed for divorce in September 2020 but later rekindled her romance with Offset. They have since welcomed a son. News broke in August 2024 that Cardi filed for divorce again, seeking primary custody of daughter Kulture and son Wave. In August 2024, Cardi announced that she is pregnant with baby No. 3. The pair welcomed their third child in September 2024.
Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon
The Baywatch alum originally married Salomon in October 2007 before requesting an annulment two months later. They tied the knot again in 2014, with Anderson filing for divorce later that year.
In August 2014, the model requested to dismiss her petition, however, they ultimately split again less than one year later.
Elon Musk and Talulah Riley
Shortly after their 2010 nuptials, Musk and Riley decided to go their separate ways. They remarried in 2013 before the entrepreneur filed for divorce again. The petition was withdrawn in August 2013 and the duo later pulled the plug on their marriage again in 2016.
Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink
In July 1999, the Grey’s Anatomy alum got married to Fink. The couple, who share three children, called it quits in 2015. They gave their relationship another try later that year and Fink called off their divorce in 2016.
Jennie Garth and Dave Abrams
Garth and Abrams started dating in 2014 after meeting on a blind date. They got engaged one year later and tied the knot in July 2015.
After separating in 2017, Garth and Abrams filed for divorce one year later. The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum later reconciled with her then-estranged husband and filed a petition to dismiss her initial divorce paperwork.
