The trend of electric cars is continuously increasing in the Indian market. Due to which vehicle manufacturing companies are also constantly introducing and launching new models. Let’s know.
The most expensive part is
The technology of electric car may be new, but it is being adopted very fast in the country. But there are some people who believe that even though the electric car may be cheap in the beginning, it can be very expensive in the long run. The biggest reason for this is that its battery is the most expensive. Just as the engine is the most expensive part in a petrol or diesel car, similarly the motor and battery are the two most expensive parts in an electric car.
How much is the life
Usually companies give information that they make the batteries used in electric cars in such a way that they can be run for many years without any problem. Most companies also give a warranty of eight years or 1.60 lakh kilometers on the battery installed in their cars. But just as the way of driving any other fuel-powered car depends on how long it can be driven, similarly if the battery of an electric car is used properly, it can be easily driven for eight to 10 years without any problem. But if negligence is shown, its life is reduced.
If for some reason the battery of an electric car has to be replaced, then this process can prove to be very expensive. Under normal circumstances, the cost of the battery and its associated parts can be up to 50 percent of the total cost of the car. In some cars it can be even more than this. According to reports, Tata offers Nexon EV at a price of Rs 14.49 lakh, but if its battery is replaced, then its cost can be up to seven lakh rupees.
